William Hung has had an incredible streak over the past few weeks—from a disaster American Idol audition to a $25,000 record deal, sharing the same label as Tupac Shakur. What could be next?
After a surprise offer from Fuse Music Network and KOCH Records, William Hung has accepted a recording contract and video production deal with the two companies. Hung will release a full-length record, tentatively titled "The True Idol," on KOCH/FUSE Records on April 6th. Known for his now-famous rendition of Ricky Martin's "She Bangs" at the Fox "American Idol" season auditions, Hung -- a Hong Kong-born UC Berkeley civil engineering student -- has become an overnight pop culture phenomenon. His website receives millions of hits per day, and he has become one of the most sought-after performers in the country.

The anticipated release will include Hung's signature rendition of "She Bangs," as well as another Ricky Martin hit, "Shake Your Bon Bon" and Elton John's "Rocket Man." The initial run of the CD will include an exclusive 40- minute DVD bonus featuring behind-the-scenes of Hung's studio recording sessions, scenes from a "day in the life" with William and fan question and answer commentary.

The 2004 William Hung Craze was born virtually overnight fueled in large part by an incredible on-line reaction to his national TV appearance and so it is most fitting that the first songs off his new album are now just a download away.
iTunes Exclusive Pre-Sale Tracks include Hung's instantly legendary rendition of Ricky Martin's "She Bangs" as well as his soon-to-be classic covers of Elton John's "Rocket Man" and R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly." "Free," Hung's first original composition (co-wrote with producer Giuseppe D), rounds out this internet aperitif to the forthcoming sumptuous feast.
Hung's rise to stardom and Internet notoriety has been one of the strangest side effects of the new season of the FOX reality smash. A student at the University of California, Berkeley, Hung arrived at the show's San Francisco auditions and performed what can most generously be described as a somewhat spastic, somewhat tone-deaf rendition of the Ricky Martin hit "She Bangs."
Hung's online shrine not only has footage of his audition and image stills, but also includes digitally edited movie posters to include the University of California (Berkeley) civil engineering student, and an exclusive radio interview with STAR 100.7FM in San Diego.
